Carol was born in Plymouth on April 30th 1956. Daughter to proud parents Bob and Mary Sloman and sister to her elder brother, Guy.
At the age of three she was diagnosed with osteomyelitis and spent several weeks in hospital (the photo to the left was taken at that time.
The Sloman family uprooted in the sixties to move to a small Cambridgeshire village, Burwell, where Carol spent her time teaching herself the piano, lip-syncing to The Beatles and putting on shows for anyone she could corral. A pattern was set.
She not only mastered the piano but also any other instrument she could lay her hands on.
